BEN HURTSenior Pastor
BEN HURT

Senior Pastor

Ben planted Gospel Community Church out of Gospel City Church in Granger and has been the Senior Pastor since we launched autonomous in the fall of 2020. He has been married to his bride, Nikki, since May of 2003 and together they have 5 children. The Lord opened his eyes to his need of a Savior at a very young age and he was saved after hearing a Sunday School teacher explain repentance. He was then called into ministry as a sophomore in college and has been greatly influenced by Gospel-centered teaching through pastors such as John Piper. His primary aim is for unbelievers to hear the authentic Gospel message of repentance and faith and for believers to understand that the Gospel applies to all of life. We never move on to greater truths because the Gospel IS the greatest truth! He claims Isaiah 26:3-4 as a favorite verse of Scripture, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”

NICK MONROEWorship & Adult Ministries Pastor
NICK MONROE

Worship & Adult Ministries Pastor

Nick has been with the GCC team since 2023. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Missions and Ministry with a Minor in Church Music from the University of the Cumberlands. Nick most recently served at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and also completed a training program and internship at The Village Church Dallas Northway. He was raised as a minster’s kid, yet felt that something was missing at a soul level until he found hope in Christ at a VBS at the age of seven. Two of his favorite passages in scripture are Titus 2:7-8 and Psalm 119:36. Nick finds joy in seeing the Lord call people together who love well through community (Romans 12:9-14), proclaim the truths of Scripture over one another corporately (Colossians 3:16), and serve others selflessly (Philippians 2:3). His favorite past-times include nerding out over a single-origin coffee, woodworking, smoking some sort of meat, reading, and playing disc golf!
